“I used the application PlanGoRun for the first time and I have to stress that as a professional athletics coach and a passionate runner I really appreciate an application of this sort. I am particularly pleased that it is useful not only for top recreational runners, but also for the beginners and those who would like to support their running sessions with proficiency and to make the most of it in the minimum amount of time. In a swamp of approximations – this application was necessary. Precise and expert planning for reaching an optimal and foremost realistic goal. Excellent.”
He’s always been a recreational runner since he was a teenager and always reached his results with his own recipes for training. After ups and downs he’s recently fallen in love with running – barefoot running again because he thinks it’s a natural human expression. A minimalist at heart, he’s been following the paleo diet for some year now because he believes in the theory of evolution of hunter-gatherers. He’s pleased to introduce the rookies to the secrets of barefoot running and paleo diet, so he also lectures and writes on these themes. Besides being barefoot and eating like a hunter-gatherer he’s an entrepreneur, family man, an author and organizer of events. He never ceases to be amazed by the world around him. zaljubljen v tek, bosi tek, ki se mu zdi človekov naravni izraz.
“Marko Mrak has hit the jackpot with PlanGoRun! Until now recreative runners have trained by our own gut feeling or by running plans which were too generic and universal. PlanGoRun is a completely different story. The perfected algorithm includes all important parameters of the runner’s personal profile (age, pulse, testing distances, desired results). It calculates an individual and custom-made program for reaching the desired goal and at the same time gives propositions and advice already in the preparation phase of the plan – for example, if the runner sets too difficult or too easy program. A running training program, created this way, is a perfect collection of guidance and information which a runner needs during running cycle. I followed this plan while I was preparing for the Ljubljana marathon and I was thrilled because it really suited me. Once, before I started preparing for the marathon, I set my training goals too high (and then often failed ingloriously), but this time PlanGoRun offered me a realistic view of things I have to do and goals I can reach. I was thrilled about time estimations for certain distances, which are displayed by the program in detail, and even more about detailed instructions for every training I had to do. Since I’m slowly preparing for winter base training, PlanGoRun is a perfect app I can trust to plan my training."
Jovica Spajić is one of the best ultramarathon runners in the world. In 2012 his insatiable desire to prove himself brought him to the first ultramarathon trial – a 6-hour run in Belgrade, Serbia. Later the same year he faced a big challenge – 250km long ultramarathon in Sahara, which he completed with enviable result – 36 hours and two minutes. A year later he beat the entire competition in an ultramarathon in Belgrade where he ran 218km in 24 hours. This was only the beginning of his path of beating incredible distances on different continents. In 2014 the Serbian representative won 6 medals and broke two national records – in Palić he ran 223km in 24 hours and at “Icarus Florida Ultra Fest” he ran an incredible 682,3km in six days of uninterrupted running. Before the running career the holder of black belts in Jiu jitsu and judo also competed in CrossFit. He proved his incredible endurance with a feat – he did 30,000 sit-ups in 24 hours without taking a break or taking a sip of water, which naturally made it to the Guinness Book of Records.
“To me, PlanGoRun is indispensable. It’s an excellent app which offers the best of the best. Perfected and extremely precise calculations based on inserted data have impressed me. With your training plan the progress for a top-class athlete with certain goals is guaranteed,” says the Serbian ultramarathon runner and adds: “We don’t run fast, our goal is to go far. Our priority is not an individual win, the goal is a better community. We don’t want to beat you, we only beat ourselves. Our results don’t prove that we’re better than you, but that you can do it too.”
Relja started with running some 30 years ago, in the beginning more or less for his pleasure and well-being than anything that had to do with serious running challenges. Only ten years later he faced competing for the first time. He embarked on the first competition, Ljubljana marathon, the half marathon, to be precise. As most runners say after having run the marathon for the first time – the first one is never the last one, so he’s obviously been on almost every Ljubljana marathon so far and also attended Three-member team run twice – the longer version, of course. He’s been a regular guest of long-distance races (42km marathon, ultra distances and ultra trails) only for the last 10 years. His best achievement is absolute first place in the Belgrade ultramarathon in 2016. In 2017 he took third place and he also competed in the 100 Miles of Istria trail (65km, 70km and 108km), in Ultra-Trail Vipava Valley and in some Serbian ultra trails and Sky runnings.
“I learned about PlanGoRun a few years ago when I met Marko Mrak. He made me a training plan for Ljubljana marathon. The app is extremely intuitive and user-friendly. The results will definitely show if you stick to the rules.”
Anže Česen runs from 2006. He’s a member of the military police and dedicates a big part of his time, if not all, to running. He switched marathons with ultramarathons a long time ago and at the same time he’s looking for new projects. Especially the ones that “uncle Google hasn’t recorded yet”. It’s amusing that he’s one of the few long-distance runners who like to run on asphalt surfaces. He likes odd thinks that are far from ordinary. “I don’t compete with anybody, I compete to see who dares to go farther,” says 32-year old Anže. Two years ago, he competed at Ruth’s run around Lake Bled and ran the record 264km in 48 hours, without interruptions. A year later he didn’t manage to reach the same result because he was facing another big challenge – the organization and realization of a big project, ultra run from Goričko to Piran (the distance was 330km!). This year he even stretched the distance – to 500km. Almost every ultramarathon runner’s wishes and dreams are to be a part of the great Spartathlon someday and Anže is not an exception: “Yes, it’s true, this is my big wish and I hope it comes true. Until then I wish I’ll continue to run with pleasure and meet new places, new people …”
“The app PlanGoRun first enables choosing between various running programs, based on what is your goal (to lose weight, functional training, competition, base running), then a ‘simple’ algorithm calculates how to begin, from 0–100%, without sustaining injuries, which is very important, given that you do not want to get injured and miss training sessions. In running, exaggeration and exhaustion are common, so gradual planning is very important. PlanGoRun pays attention to that aspect very well. It explicitly presents all essential information (training type, mode, distance, pulse and speed). Interesting program for improving condition and for trying something new. Planning has never been easier. Really great! :-)”
